The many faces of Joel

It is so funny to me how many different facial expressions one little person can have. Joel LOVES to make faces and I didn't really realize it until I started looking at his 5 month pictures.

Here is just a small collection of some of his silliest and most serious faces.

 

I decided a long time ago that I wasn't going to spend money getting professional pictures taken of Joel. We will pay to have family pictures done once in awhile and I paid to have newborn pictures taken of Joel, because I was in no state to be doing that just 10 days after giving birth. But for the rest of his pictures I will use my Canon SLR with the 50 mm lens and take pictures myself. We will travel to fun destinations and snap away then narrow down to a few we want to get printed. This past weekend was the perfect opportunity. I had an assistant, my mom, perfect weather and a farm to roam around on. Here are my favorite pictures of the day - unedited.
