The House

Tuesday afternoon the clan (My, Phil, My grandpa, my grandma, my mom, my dad, Phils dad, Phils stepmom and the 2 puppies) arrived in Lafayette. Shortly after we got there Grandma and Grandpa went to work scrubbing and vaccuming the carpets downstairs. Peter and Erin showed up to help us unload. Thanks to all our helpers things went so quickly. Before I knew it they had the piano and all our other furniture in the house! It was overwhelming but exciting! We all had subway for dinner and then said goodbye to Scott and Jill. The next 3 days were spent cleaning more, putting things away and painting our bedroom and the woodwork in our bathroom. We were able to rearrange all our funiture and make every room look just right. Now we just need to decorate. We have been incredibly blessed with this home. It is in a great neighborhood and in great condition. I love my kitchen and my hardwood floors. We have also been blessed by our gracious friends and family. All of our furniture has been generously given to us. We received a couch, chair, ottomen and 6 dining room chairs from a friend of my moms, a huge couch and bookshelf from the people I babysit for, a china cabinet and bedside table from Bonnie, a dining room table from my grandparents, a pompasan chair from Mark Lackowski (which was really mine, I am an Indiana giver), our bedroom set from Phils parents, a coffee table and end table from Ginni Glass, a whole list of things from my parents as well as a whole list of thing from the Sutherlins! We are truly blessed with all of these donations and we will think of each of you whenever we see the things you have donated. We love our house and hope that after September you will come visit. We have 2 guest rooms and a huge couch in the basement!

Here are the pictures for now, we will call these the before.... the afters will come in September once I get down there for good and have time to decorate :)

Congratulations on your new house! So many exciting changes for you... I hope all the wedding planning is going well, and you're able to find some breathing space between the move and the wedding.

Thanks for the comments about Jackson... we feel so blessed to have such a sweet little baby.

Love,
Christine

Katy! I LOVE the house!! And I think you've gotten off to a great start. I really like the blue bedroom with that dark wood. I think it fits so well!

But yes, the living room and family room need some help ;-) hehe

I have some thoughts, so I'll send ya a note. Might be too long for here! I am just SO excited for you that you have A HOUSE!!

OH! I will be coming to IN to do engagement pics for some friends so I might be able to stop by the house and see it in person. When I know the schedule I'll let you know!
